I’ll admit, I’m a late bloomer when it comes to fashion.
It wasn’t until my early 30s that I started to really care about the clothes purchased. It wasn’t shopping sprees for new clothes that captured my interest, it was thrifting clothes from 10, 20, or 30 years ago.
J.Crew Oxford shirts from the 2000s and 1990s. Chambray shirts from the 2010s. A tweed J.Press topcoat from the 1970s.
Time and time again, I’d find myself holding an article of clothing old enough to vote and wondering why new store-bought clothes could rarely hold a candle to them.
